Power 4.0L V6 Engine
Sport Trac's standard 4.0L SOHC V6 engine with 5-speed automatic transmission provides an impressive combination of power and value. 4.6L V8 Engine

It cranks out an awesome 292 hp, 315 lb.-ft. of torque and impressive 15 city/21 highway fuel economy (EPA estimated 15 city/21 hwy mpg).
Capability Fully Independent Suspension
The suspension system of today's Sport Trac utilizes a Short- and Long-Arm (SLA) design up front and a trailing-arm design at the rear. Both are fully independent and supply an ideal combination of smooth road performance, agile control and rugged durability.
Big Towing Capacity
A properly equipped V8-powered Sport Trac 4x2 has a maximum Class III/IV towing capacity of 7,160 lbs. (6,990 lbs. with 4x4). The V6-powered Sport Trac is pretty impressive too, with a 5,250-lb. rating (4x2) and 5,080-lb. rating (4x4) when properly equipped. And you'll tow with more confidence while on the road with Sport Trac's new Trailer Sway Control feature that works with the AdvanceTrac® with Roll Stability Control™ System to help keep both vehicle and trailer under control.
Versatility Large Bed
The Sport Trac cargo bed takes 37.5 cu. ft. of gear. Three storage bins with weather-resistant lids and removable drain plugs hold smaller items below the cargo bed deck. Add the optional cargo cage bed extender and you can carry an additional 6 cu. ft. of gear.
Cargo Bed Extender
The optional cargo cage Bed Extender adds an additional 6-plus cubic feet of storage space. You can use the extender with the tailgate open to make more room for gear or use it with the tailgate closed as an in-bed partitioner. Another handy addition - add the optional crossbars (shown) to the standard roof side rails for even more cargo-carrying versatility.
Technology Voice-Activated Ford SYNC®
The Ford SYNC® Communications and Entertainment System is a state-of-the-art, voice-activated system that fully integrates Bluetooth®-enabled mobile phones and digital media players. What can SYNC do? Here's a sampling: Connects a Bluetooth®-enabled phone. Allows you to control the entire library of your connected MP3 player by voice. The optional voice-activated Navigation System provides many navigational features including detailed freeway exit, turn and ramp transition lane guidance; street name announcement; and current location display. The system comes with a 10GB hard drive for storing photos, ripping CDs, and managing music with the Jukebox function. And there's the greater wealth of travel information the SIRIUS® Travel Link™ service provides, such as real-time travel and weather conditions plus lowest fuel prices. You can also watch a DVD when the vehicle is in park.
