The two-tone instrument panel features a darker top portion for a dramatic and elegant look that also reduces glare from the sun. Upscale features can be seen throughout Grand Cherokee's interior: leather-wrapped park brake handle; leather front door armrest, leather wrap on instrument panel and center console armrest. Overland features an upscale leather treatment on seats, doors and dashboard and heated second row seats.

Jeep Grand Cherokee has tremendous off-road performance when equipped with Quadra-Drive® II with Electronic Limited Slip Differentials (ELSDs). There are five main categories of testing: Traction, Ground Clearance, Water Fording, Maneuverability, and Articulation.

As capable as it is comfortable, as powerful as it is beautiful; Jeep® Grand Cherokee combines the right amount of might with muscular good looks. Choose from five— yes five—available engines. From the 3.0L V6 turbo diesel to the monstrous 6.1L HEMI® V8. A smooth-shifting multi-speed automatic transmission provides smooth optimum efficiency when mated to the 4.7L FFV V8, 4.7L V8 or 5.7L HEMI® V8 engines. The transmission allows fully automated shifting and manual gear selection through electronic range select, which helps drivers better adapt to various on- and off-road conditions. This transmission is smart as well, thanks to its advanced adaptive shifting, which allows the transmission to learn a driving style and adapt the shift characteristics accordingly. It also features park position locks and tow / haul mode. A five-speed automatic transmission is mated to the 3.0L V6 turbo diesel, 3.7L V6, and 6.1L SRT® HEMI® V8 engines. In addition to providing smooth shifts and optimum efficiency, the transmission allows fully automated shifting when in the "drive" position, or the driver can also manually select each gear by moving the shifter left and right from the "drive" position. This capability gives the driver the ability to precisely match any on-road or off-road requirement.

With Jeep® Grand Cherokee, you'll feel reassured knowing both passive and active safety and security features, such as standard advanced multistage driver and front-passenger airbags and front and rear side-curtain airbags. Grand Cherokee's Side Occupant Protection System with front and rear side-curtain airbags, knee bolsters, Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and four-wheel Antilock Brake System (ABS), have been designed to help keep you safer during your on- and off-road adventures. Engineered crush zones divert and dissipate impact energy away from the passenger compartment, helping minimize injuries in the event of an accident. Grand Cherokee's safety cage structure and front crumple zones absorb energy during a front impact; door guard door beams help protect occupants during side impact.

During extreme steering maneuvers the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) system helps maintain control by sensing when the vehicle is starting to over- or understeer. ESP automatically applies individual brakes or controls the throttle to help you stay safely on course. When you don't want the extra hand, ESP is specially tuned for performance handling so you can switch it off. Grand Cherokee's four-wheel disc Antilock Brake System (ABS), brake assist and all-speed traction control helps prevent wheel lockup for improved steering under extreme braking and slippery conditions. The system also aids in trail driving when in four-wheel-drive 4LO mode. Anticipating the need for additional traction, all of Grand Cherokee's four-wheel drive systems automatically respond to wheel slippage and improve vehicle stability.
