Classic, rugged styling takes Patriot's legendary DNA in a new and adventurous direction, with angular lines, trapezoidal wheel openings and a timeless character that embodies the Jeep spirit of adventure. Look at Patriot's height and width dimensions and you'll find they're almost identical to the classic Jeep Cherokee (Patriot's a wee bit longer with shorter overhangs). The present day Patriot was inspired by the 2005 Patriot Concept, first shown at the 2005 International Auto Show in Frankfurt, Germany.

Take a close look and you'll see attention to detail in the texture, grain, mold lines, sheen and fit and finish. Major upgrade. Sport and Limited both include a monochromatic instrument panel with two-tone trim. Limited is enhanced with high-value features that match your active lifestyle, including a four-gauge electroluminescent cluster that is pleasingly wrapped in a Chrome bezel. The center stack on all models features a Chrome bezel to compliment the instrument panel.

All Jeep Trail Rated vehicles are designed to perform in a variety of off-road conditions identified by five performance categories: Traction, Ground Clearance, Water Fording, Maneuverability, and Articulation.

All of the 2.0L and 2.4L World Engines feature a heavy dose of high-tech: Intake manifold and exhaust flow control valves, Dual Overhead Camshafts (DOHC), Four valves per cylinder, Forged crankshaft and connecting rods, Aluminum block, and Acoustic oil pan.

Green Alert! The 2.4L DOHC 16V dVVT PZEV I-4 engine is one of the greenest cars on the planet. A Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (PZEV) is a vehicle that meets Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (SULEV) tailpipe emission standards and has zero evaporative emissions from its fuel system. It also features a 15-year (or least 150,000 mile) factory emissions warranty. Rejoice! There are three available transaxles on Patriot: a five-speed manual, second-generation Continuously Variable Transaxle (CVT2) with AutoStick®, or Continuously Variable Transaxle (CVT2L) with 19.1:1 overall first gear crawl ratio.

AutoStick allows you to tap the gearshift left or right for complete control of six simulated stepped-gear ratios. Or just leave it in drive and let the advanced CVT2 transaxle handle the rest.

Safety & Security

Keeping you and your passengers safe in the event of an accident is very important to us. Both Patriot models feature standard advanced multistage driver and front-passenger airbags, supplemental front and rear side-curtain airbags are available. The integrated restraint system includes three-point lap and shoulder belts for all seating positions. Engineered crush zones divert and dissipate impact energy away from the passenger compartment, helping minimize injuries in the event of an accident. Patriot's safety cage structure and front crumple zones absorb energy during a front impact; door guard beams help protect occupants during side impact; a ultra high-strength roll-formed steel cross-beam is bolted to the body structure under the rear seat to help transfer side-impact energy from one side of the car to the other.

During extreme steering maneuvers the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) system helps maintain control by sensing when the vehicle is starting to over- or understeer. The system automatically applies individual brakes or controls the throttle to help you stay safely on course. When you don't want the extra hand, ESP is specially tuned for performance handling so you can switch it off. Patriot's four-wheel Antilock Brake System (ABS) includes brake assist and all-speed traction control to help you maintain vehicle control during emergency braking. ABS modulates the brakes to reduce stopping distances and improve steering control under braking. Special off-road calibration provides sustained lockup on surfaces like mud or gravel for improved braking, and aid in trail driving when in four-wheel-drive Off-Road mode. Anticipating the need for additional traction, Patriot's four-wheel drive system automatically responds to wheel slippage by transferring power equally to both the front and rear wheels, improving vehicle stability.
